THE MINING MUSEUM (MONTECATINI VAL DI CECINA)

It was the most important copper mine in Europe from 1827 to 1907.

This mine has given its name to one of the major industries of the twentieth century: Montecatini SpA which later became Montedison.

You can visit the galleries nineteenth century and the tower of Pozzo Alfredo, from the top you can sweep over most of the territory of the Val di Cecina.
